Why did David Ruggles, the renowned, courageous antislavery activist, book store owner, antislavery magazine publisher and architect of the Underground Railroad leave New York City and move to Northampton, MA in 1842? What did he do in this rural small town? Kevin McQuillan, on the Board at the David Ruggles Center in Northampton, will give a talk that details the final seven years of Ruggles’ continually remarkable life.
